Some guest houses/rooms have been built by PMDC on site for visitors to come and stay, enjoy the mine, and if sufferring from Asthma, get some medical treatment.

There is just a simple Bazaar in Khewra and all the life of Khewra is that Bazaar. When the sun rises, people wake up and around 8 or 9 a.m the bazaar is set and when the sunsets, people start closing their shops and only the litter is left at night !
Dress Code: Though in winters, there are a few shops where you see the shop keepers sitting outside after or about to close their shops and sitting around the fire and chit chatting. But other than this, there is absolutely nothing. Not even a horen of any vehicle !
There are numerous souvenir shops lining the road towards the salt mine and they may all vary in prices.
What to buy: Various handicrafts have been made, varying in sizes using Rock salt. Buy which you know you can carry back. Favorite items are salt lamps. You will have to connect the electric cord and bulb yourself when you get back to your abode.
